BLOODSTOCK IN THE BLOOD
Bryce Tankard has the pedigree to be a successful bloodstock consultant. He learnt his craft for one of the best in the business, his father Ginger, and this invaluable knowledge is complemented by a lifetime of experience in the thoroughbred industry.
A former stakes-winning trainer, Bryce followed in the footsteps of his Dad to become a bloodstock agent in 2002, and the pair worked successfully together for many years. When Tankard senior retired in 2007, Bryce was urged by Waikato Bloodstock clients to keep the successful business going, and for the past 5 years he has sourced, selected, purchased and sold racehorse for his loyal and expanding client base.
Bryce's formula for success was demonstrated on the international stage at the 2013 Hong Kong International race-meeting when Glorious Days took out the Gr.1 Longines Mile for champion trainer John Size. Bryce purchased an un-raced Glorious Days in New Zealand and duly qualified him for racing in Hong Kong with victory at Te Rapa with NZ trainer Stephen McKee.
Respected for his ability to source the right horse for the right market, Bryce has forged strong relationships with leading trainers and prominent owners throughout Australasia and Asia, and he offers a full range of bloodstock consultancy services including purchasing and selling bloodstock, bloodstock and racing management, buying at auction, pre-purchase auction inspections, and insurance and airfreight services.
Ideally based in Cambridge in the heart of New Zealands thoroughbred industry, Bryce is married to Sarah, an accomplished horsewoman who provides great support within the business and they have two beautiful children, Adam and Grace.
